Buenos Aires Emprende: es un programa cuya finalidad es fortalecer a empresas con menos de 24 meses de existencia e ideas de negocio. 

Apoyo a la Competitividad PyME: es otra iniciativa del GCBA cuya modalidad es similar al anterior pero está dirigido a PYMES ya establecidas (empresas de más de 24 meses de vida).

I tried to think what would surprise him or what I’d not understand if I´d be flying for my first time:

1.     As soon as I got to the plane, I was surprise by first and business class, which was a good promotion for the big and comfortable sits that I couldn’t find in economics.

2.     Then they asked me to turn off any electronic device and they said that I couldn’t use my cell phone, however they charged earphone, beverages and food with credit cards, which use the same signal than phones I thought…

3.     I understood how important the security message was, however I did not understand why they told me 4 times  to don’t smoke during the flight. If there is a fine and very clear signs, why don´t let people to smoke and pay the US$2500 fine? Can you imagine the other passengers if someone tries to turn a cigarette on in a plane?

Then I started thinking with the experience of having flown more than ever before during last year. I found there’re three different kinds of airlines:

• Big, old and classic, where we can include American Airlines, Delta, United or most of the flag airlines.
• Big and modern, where we can include Virgin and some flag airlines like Air New Zealand or Singapore Airlines.
• Low cost airlines, from Ryan Air to Southwest.

Big and modern airlines have some advantages respect the big, old and classic airlines. They have younger employees, what means they pay less benefits and they have modern airplanes, those modern airplanes are much more fuel-efficient than the old Boing 747-300 so they can compete on services and price.

Have a safe flight and please don´t smoke.

Los Angeles is a crazy city, there are more than 14 million people and almost one car per person, there is traffic all around the city and the public transportation is the worst of the country. A high percentage of the population is Latina and there are lot of people who moved to Los Angeles to became part of the ¨entertainment industry” what means lot of cultural activates but a little of superficiality in some of those people.

Venice of America was a neighborhood created by Abbot Kinney, who was an influential businessman and politician, who was fluent in 6 languages. His purpose to create Venice was to share his interest in art and culture and he had the dream of creating a great cultural Mecca in America. Walking the channels is a must to do if you stop by.

Hace un tiempo, en un seminario al que fui invitado a participar tuve la suerte de conocer a Felipe Berríos, cura jesuita chileno que fundó Un Techo para mi País.

Más allá de la inteligencia, humildad y luminosa sonrisa de este hombre, me impactó la manera de explicar lo que pasa en nuestro continente con la pobreza y desigualdad.

Recordó Berríos el accidente de aviación vivido por los deportistas uruguayos en los Andes y cómo, al principio, y seguramente como natural reacción humana, los que estaban en mejor posición ocuparon los mejores lugares en el fuselaje del avión. Hasta que se dieron cuenta de que si las cosas seguían así, los más débiles se iban a morir. Entonces, los más fuertes decidieron cambiar sus lugares con los más débiles, para protegerlos.

“América latina no ha hecho lo mismo que los uruguayos”, dijo Berríos. Los que recibimos la mejor parte hemos mantenido para nosotros los mejores lugares; no hemos tomado conciencia de que ellos, en esa situación, también se iban a morir.

Los argentinos somos, en general, personas preocupadas por nuestras familias, nuestros amigos, nuestro trabajo, nuestros bienes, nuestro futuro. No somos malos. Creemos sinceramente que este problema no es nuestro problema. Creemos, de buena fe, que son los políticos los que deberían solucionar los males sociales. Nosotros ya pagamos excesivamente por lo poco que recibimos del Estado: debemos sostener nuestra seguridad privada, nuestra educación privada, nuestra jubilación privada (hasta que la borraron de un plumazo), nuestro barrio privado, nuestra medicina privada… Es injusto que recibamos tan poco por lo que damos.

Lo cierto es que más allá de las disputas, los enojos, las justicias y las injusticias, el escándalo de la pobreza no deja de crecer. El Papa se enoja, el cardenal Bergoglio denuncia, los curas que trabajan en las villas tienen cada vez más trabajo. Y nosotros seguimos -honestamente- pensando que el problema es de otro; cerramos el diario, cambiamos de canal y nuestra mente vuelve a nuestras actividades y preocupaciones de todos los días.

El problema no pasa de la categoría de noticia que se lee, se ve, se escucha, pero que no nos toca. La noticia no tiene la fuerza de perforar nuestra conciencia, ya que no somos nosotros los responsables de ella y, por lo tanto, de solucionarla.

¿Qué nos toca? ¿Qué nos llega?

Nos tocan los problemas de los que conocemos. Nos impactan las noticias relacionadas con aquello a lo que pertenecemos. Nos pega la injusticia que provocan los que nos desgobiernan o roban. Nos tocan las ofertas, las gangas, el último modelo, las nuevas casas en los nuevos barrios, ese viaje que ya estamos planeando.

¿Por qué no nos toca la pobreza? Porque no es nuestra. Porque pertenece a otros a los que no consideramos de los nuestros. Porque no tiene nombre y apellido como ese amigo desempleado al que decidimos ayudar.

La manera de incorporar el problema a nuestra conciencia es, precisamente, despertándola. ¿Cómo? Como hace, por ejemplo, la organización de Berríos. Para integrarnos, respetarnos, querernos, debemos primero conocernos. No se trata de aprender intelectualmente un problema; eso es la noticia. Para que el problema sea nuestro problema debemos derribar las barreras (las visibles y las invisibles), ir hacia el otro, dialogar con él, aceptarlo a pesar de las diferencias, construir la vida en común, construir un techo.

Nosotros, los ciudadanos de este bendito país, debemos asumir las responsabilidades que nos tocan. Debemos responder ante la ofensa de la pobreza. Para solucionarlo no alcanza con la limosna. Necesitamos poner lo mejor de nosotros mismos: nuestra inteligencia, nuestro tiempo, nuestros recursos. Debemos apropiarnos del problema y responder a él con la decisión de postergar y, como dice Bergoglio, hasta eliminar consumos que sólo aumentan la brecha entre los que más tienen y esos volquetes existenciales.

When people is not happy about a product, service or a company they may use Internet as a platform to express their opinions.

In the US, probably most of the people will use Yelp to rate a business, which was founded in 2004 to help people rate local businesses, to find the best ones. “Yelpers” have written over 11 million local reviews.

Some people are too frustrated and they found obsolete the average complain so with a little more of creative they´ve transformed the ordinary complain into something cool, something that can easily rank number 1. Below you are going to see two examples:

United Breaks Guitars was a song created by Dave Carroll after united airlines brook his Taylor guitar.

Dustin Curtis was frustrated with American Airline´s website so he took part of his time to redesign the company website. He received thousand of comments, including from formal company employees.

From the point of view of a company, I believe it´s fundamental to provide an excellent service, which is not always possible or it is, however what means excellent could be different for different people. In the case that an excellent service was not provided it, the company has to listen the person who is complaining, if the consumer is right the company has to solve the problem and give their apologizes. If the company believes the consumer is wrong, what is the first example of this post, they have to give them their reasons, taking the risk of the future actions, of a more frustrated consumer.
